Surrealism artist Ray Borchers creates a visually intuitive realm where dreams and reality collide. Her emotive work utilizes various techniques, including collage, warm colors, large-scale painting, and more. By arranging sourced imagery and metaphorical subjects into an evolving composition, Ray evokes a deep-core feeling through under-painted figures observing a world unraveling around them. Inspired by the reconnection with lost memory, pop culture, and dry humor, her work embodies the complexities of the human condition.
Ray graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her exhibition history includes Carl Hammer Gallery, Zolla/ Lieberman, Chicago, Satchel Projects, NYC and ZONA MACO, Mexico City.
She is based in Brooklyn, NY.
